Edmonton, October 19, 2010 – Over the past several years, a series of major disasters around the globe have had a devastating impact and posed huge challenges in communicating and linking different emergency response groups and citizens.
At the Beyond 2010 Edmonton conference October 20 to 21, Girl Geeks Edmonton will launch a 24 hour Hackathon, inviting anyone interested from anywhere in the world to join in and find answers to these communication challenges. The outcome will be an application used on our iPhones and other mobile equipment and shared with cities and communities throughout the world. VIew our live Video Stream

Jack Uldrich, global technology futurist and keynote speaker kicks off the conference with his talk What's in Your Future: How to Prosper in an Era of Exponential Growth.
Peter Hinssen, one of Europe’s top thought leaders in the field of technology and its impact on business and society will speak on The Digital Revolution: What happens when we reach the halfway point? Hinssen believes technology is no longer an enabler, but a game-changer changing customer behaviours and forcing organizations to change or perish.
These are just a few of the speakers from Canada, the U.S., South America and Europe who will gather in Edmonton as part of the first tri-city global digital conference with Birmingham, England and Seoul, South Korea.
