Dick Axelrod, one of the founders of the Axelrod Group, designs collaborative systems that enable leaders and employees to jointly construct a company that is both profitable and worthy of pride.

Their practices are sometimes called “organizational barn raising” because the focus and energy demonstrated by participants reminds them of the old-fashioned community barn raisings, during which neighbors would erect a sturdy building within a weekend. The Axelrod Group supports that comparison. When a company is focused and the working environment encourages spirited involvement, remarkable things can occur quickly.

Axelrod has a rich background in organizational development and brings more than 30 years of consulting and teaching to his work with clients such as Boeing, Coca-Cola, Corning, First Union, Ford, Harley-Davidson, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Kraft and 3M.

He is the author of Terms of Engagement: Changing the Way We Change Organizations (Berrett-Koehler Publishers), You Don’t Have to Do It Alone: How to Involve Others to Get Things Done, and a contributing author to Discovering Common Ground, The Change Handbook, and The Flawless Consulting Field Book.
